Top Regional Law Firm Expands Relationship with MCS

Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, a nationally-recognized law firm with offices throughout the United States, has recently expanded its long-standing outsourcing relationship with MCS Management Services. MCS has been providing Schnader with outsourced office support services since 1994, assisting six of the firm’s offices throughout the Eastern U.S, including New York.

Driving the growth of MCS’ relationship with Schnader New York is the addition of five new attorneys to the office this past fall. To better manage the New York office growth, Schnader has turned to MCS for additional services to support the staff expansion and associated records management requirements. While continuing to provide Schnader’s New York office with onsite mail center and document management capabilities, MCS has expanded its service offerings to now include reception services, light maintenance, and ongoing records management.

A by-product of Schnader’s New York office expansion was increased needs in the area of records management. As new attorneys came on board so did their client files, increasing an already challenging backlog of records management requirements at the office. MCS brought additional staff onsite to help gain better control of Schnader’s records department. Leveraging its proven processes and expertise, MCS helped Schnader reduce its records backlog in a little over two-months. All files were organized and indexed and older records were sent off-site, freeing much needed office space for Schnader. MCS also consolidated Schnader’s off-site records storage with one nationally-based provider, further streamlining the process and saving the firm money.

“Increasing the overall level of service to Schnader New York has helped deliver new efficiencies and accountability, while enabling the firm to better focus on its core business and services,” notes Harry Schreckengast, Executive Vice President at MCS. “Moreover, by solving Schnader’s records management challenges, we have not only helped alleviate an administrative burden for the office, but have also put processes in place that will better support continued growth.”

MCS Launches Community Outreach Program

To support its commitment to social responsibility, MCS Management Services has launched a new Community Outreach Program.

“As a growing and visible member of the regional business community, MCS believes that being a good corporate citizen plays an important role in our mission,” comments Harry Shreckengast, MCS Executive Vice President. “By formalizing our philanthropic initiatives in the form of a Community Outreach Program, we have committed staff time and company resources on an ongoing basis to support people, organizations and important causes throughout the greater Philadelphia area.”

Through its new Community Outreach Program, MCS made recent donations that helped deliver toys and gifts during the holiday season to ill children at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE.

“We hope that these donations ultimately helped children and their families to cope more positively with their healthcare experience,” noted Shreckengast. “The Community Outreach Program will provide MCS with the basis for a number of important future philanthropic programs, such as toy or food drives or a wide range of volunteer efforts. We are committed to being there for the local community for the long term.”
